Pandora Pals and #Inktober

A bit of an art dump!

I was commissioned by a wonderful return customer, "Rooth", to do a scene with a character he had designed named Cinnamon, who is a Na'Vi & jackrabbit hybrid.  All he asked was that I pull out all the stops, go "all in" on the backdrop, etc and do a really nice Pandora scene that did the character (along with a little gecko dragon pal that I had designed & which he adopted) justice in all it's brightly colored, glowing glory.  It's one of my favorite pieces in a while, but it definitely makes me want to practice doing detailed backgrounds more.

I've also been participating in the #Inktober... event?  Meme?  Hashtag?  I don't know what to call it. ;^_^  But anyway, I've been doing a lot of drawings on what are basically half-sheet sticker labels that I usually use for printing customs forms for my international shipping.

So what you end up with are these super cool 8.5" x 5.5" original drawings that can be stuck to anything (though they wouldn't hold up to moisture or really any outdoor exposure; they're just paper with an adhesive backing).  But I have one stuck to the cover of a sketchbook right now, and it looks great. They're pretty neat, and fun to do!

I've drawn a few for myself, as well as a bunch as commissions for folks, and have been posting them all to my newly-resurrected Instagram account as each one is finished.  If you would like one for yourself, I'll be doing them for $20 until the end of the month.  Just send me an e-mail!

Last thing of note: I will be moving between now and the end of the month from my current apartment to a house nearby my current roommate will be closing on within the week.  We don't know the EXACT close date so I'm not sure when the move will happen, but there will likely be a couple days of radio silence on my end.  So if you follow me on twitter or e-mail me and get crickets, that's why.

Once I've moved and settled in, I've got a bunch of stuff planned that I want to make/do and share with you guys.  Stay tuned! ^_^

The Lover and The Fighter

A new pair of originals I just finished for Anthrocon this weekend: The Lover and The Fighter!

Each piece measures 12"x18" in size, and were done using Copic markers, Prismacolor pencils, and acrylic paint.  They will be up in the Anthrocon art show and available for bidding individually. I got really nice marbled gold mats for them and coupled with the metallic gold halos they look SO GOOD in person. If you're going to Anthrocon, I hope you check them out in the art show!

In addition, I'll have a limited number of 13"x19" prints that will feature both images together. I'm not sure how many prints I'll have, as it honestly depends on how many my printer's ink supply will give me. I'm hoping for at least 10-12, but we will see how that goes. Either way, if you would like one I suggest finding me in the Dealer's room at table D14 as soon as you can if you want to better your chances of snagging one.  If demand is high enough, I'll print a few more when I return home to put up for sale in the store.

If you're going to Anthrocon this weekend, come swing by my table and say hi!  if you're not attending, I'll see you when I get back. :)

Together We Are Strong (Overwatch Quasi-Fan Art)

I've been pretty excited for Blizzard's new game "Overwatched" since it was announced.  A week ago though, my anticipation boner got an extra special little tickle when they announced 2 new characters; one of which was the super badass Russian weightlifter Zarya, sporting bright pink hair and rocking some massive guns... and I don't just mean her Particle Cannon.  This woman looks ready to kick some serious ass. AND she has a hot Russian accent. How can you NOT love this lady? (Well, unless you're That Guy on Twitter. We don't talk about that guy.)

Speaking of Twitter though, @ALIENwolve got me inspired to do a Sunny/Zarya piece, with Sunny dressed as the uber-buff Russian badass.  And honestly, I couldn't NOT do it.  I felt compelled.  Nay, obligated.

I did this for you, dear internet.  Because Reasons.

Do you even LIFT, bro?

Do you even LIFT, bro?

You're welcome.

League of... Furries?

I draw furries.  I also play video games.  I am what some may call a "nerd", and I happily celebrate the term.  Yay nerds!

I recently got the urge to draw my mascot character, Lizardbeth, as Jinx "The Loose Canon" from Riot Game's League of Legends.  I thought it an appropriate fit, given Liz's hyperactivity and colorful nature.  Plus, Jinx is just one of my favorite heroes in LoL, both in terms of design and gameplay.  What's not to love about a rocket launcher shaped like a shark? I mean come ON.

Of course, having doing that, I got the itch to do a few more. I told my followers on FurAffinity "hey, if any of you want me to draw your character as a League of Legends champion, I'll totally do it."  I opened two slots initially, with the intent that if I got enough demand I'd open up a couple more spots later.

Well wouldn't you know it? There's a lot of furry LOL nerds. out there. :)

I'll likely continue to do these until interest dries up (whether it's mine, or potential buyers).  But I'm certainly enjoying them for now.

One last note: during the month of December, I'll be doing a Patreon Advent Calender for all of my $2+ patron subscribers.  There will be one exclusive post per day from the 1st to the 25th, including anything from digital icons and backgrounds, secret doodles, printable greeting cards for friends and family, and more. And it won't be only Christmas-centric; there will be some Hanukah, Yule, as well as lots of general winter fun. As long as you set you're Patreon subscription to at least $2, you'll be able to see everything that gets posted all month.

If you're not a Patreon subscriber yet, please head on over to my Patreon Page and show your support.
